"I have always depended on the kindness of strangers."
-- Tennessee Williams
Mini blog post!
I got on the bus so gracefully today! It started rolling and I didn't LURCH forward because I was prepared and I walked so well.
...then I got crammed into a corner and my massive bag (which was actually two bags, one of which broke and was shoved into the other bag - other story) was SO disruptive to all the other people. But anyway. So I'm standing in my corner and a seat opens up, and an elderly early-60's woman starts toward it, but just as she's stepping up to sit down a mid-70's man comes on and she steps back for him to take it, and he won't and insists she take it and it's just PRECIOUS. And then this teenage girl gives up her seat to the man and all these strangers are just so nice and I just found it a cute little moment. I don't know if it was very Chilean. But it was fun. On another bus later a guy had his banjo and played two really good songs and then Somewhere Over the Rainbow with the best accent. Side story.
